About the event
We are looking forward to returning to Bradford on Avon to take part in these celebrations, we will have our canal art, macrame and cleaning products on our stand. If it’s not too hot Paul will also be doing canal art demonstrations during the day.
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust, Sunday 14th June, Bradford on Avon wharf.
In 1951, many stretches of the 87-mile-long waterway were derelict, overgrown, and unnavigable. A few dedicated canal enthusiasts started the battle to save it, and in 1990 the canal was fully reopened.
From 2nd June through to 7th July, the K&A Trust boat, Hannah, will travel the canal, stopping at key places to open the boat to visitors and attend a series of events organised by the Trust’s eight branches.
